Step by step
Five steps with the remote.
A Fire TV only installs apps from the Amazon Appstore until you allow one app to fetch others. Downloader is that app, and it is free.
2. Allow it to install apps
Open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps, and turn Downloader on.
No Developer Options? Open My Fire TV → About, highlight your device name, and press Select seven times. It appears.
3. Type the short link
Open Downloader and type this in the address box, then press Go.

4. Install and open Castor
When the download finishes, choose Install, then Open. If Downloader offers to delete the file afterwards, you can: the app stays.
5. Pick a server
Choose Ruby server and sign in with the username we send, or VIP server and send the device ID on the activation screen. We switch it on in minutes.
Not sure which server?
Ruby is for viewers in the United States, Canada and the UK, with 20,000+ live channels. VIP is for a TV that stays put and for lineups beyond America, with 10,000+ channels. Compare the two.

Internet speed
About 15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Live sport is steadiest on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or an Ethernet adapter for the stick.
Updates
New versions of Castor arrive inside the app. You do not need to run Downloader again, and updating never clears your favourites or sign-in.
A new Fire TV Stick
Install Castor the same way. On the MAC activation screen, choose Enter your existing device ID and type the ID from your old stick. The subscription follows it.
